For more than 100 years Nousaku have been creating Buddhist altar fittings, tea sets and flower vases by hand from their factory in Takaoka City, Japan. Although their collection of objects has a demeanour of simplicity, they undergo advanced casting and refining techniques that often require multiple processes. With the use of both modern innovations and traditional craftsmanship, Nousaku use molten metals and moulds to create beautiful objects, each with an individuality and ‘soul’ of its own. Their mission as a company “is not only to explore opportunities and the meaning of handicrafts for future generations, but also to clarify our social significance in this civilized consumer society.”
